On first impressions when stepping into Revolucion de Cuba, I found myself looking around and spotting little quirks that made it feel like a small part of being in Cuba.

We were greeted and shown to our table promptly, I should also mention we did go on a Monday which meant we pretty much had the place you ourselves which was amazing! It was lovely to be shown to our table and seeing the wording “Reserved for Amy!” written on the pages of a book, how cute.

First up we had a look through the cocktail menus and I was instantly drawn to the “Mad Hatter” and Ross went for something more traditional, a “Cuba Libre”. My reaction when I received my drink was “WOW” I loved how it came with a playing card attached to my glass, little touches always win me over.

Let’s discuss the food and the menu, it was so hard to decide on what I wanted to eat as the menu itself was right up my street. We had some advice from our lovely waitress about choosing three tapas dishes as a starter to share so we went for the mojito prawns, Nachos del sol and a dish called Albondigas which was meatballs made with beef, chorizo and pork in a rich tomato sauce. We loved all our our choices, especially the nachos ah I was in heaven!

For my main I chose a classic, opting for the Chicken enchiladas. The chicken is marinated in lime, soy and pineapple and wrapped in a tortilla. This dish also came with rice and black beans, which complimented the  tomato and cheese topping on my enchiladas.

Ross opted for the Cuban hot burger which has jalapeños , spicy rum sauce, manchego, cheese  with fries and a rum mayo. I couldn’t resist trying the rum mayo and I am sold. I am a fan of rum so this was defiantly a winner in my eyes.

We were both so full that we couldn’t fit dessert in, which I was gutted about as I had been looking forward churros all day long. I should of listened to the menu!

Revolucion de Cuba was such a lovely place, with stunning food and a huge range of cocktails. I’ll defiantly be back for cocktails and churros, so if anyone wants to take me?

*I also want to thank all the team at Revolucion de Cuba for having us. Although the drink and food were provided by Revolucion de Cuba all thought are my own.*
